As part of this observational study, the ORBIT-CIDP Study team may analyze your medical records alongside those of other study participants to gain a clearer picture of how CIDP affects daily life. By combining data from many participants, the study can identify patterns and insights that may not be visible to any single physician.
To protect your privacy, all personal details that could identify you are removed through a process called de-identification, ensuring that researchers receive only the essential health information they need.

The medical records PicnicHealth collects may help improve care, guide treatment decisions, and lead to a better future for everyone affected by NMOSD.
You are eligible for participating in the OBSERVE-NMO Study if you:
- Have been diagnosed with NMOSD
- Are actively taking UPLIZNA®
- Reside and receive care in the US
PicnicHealth is a secure health technology partner supporting the Study. They collect and organize your medical records on your behalf. PicnicHealth will only share de-identified data with the research team, meaning your name and personal information are removed before researchers are provided access to any data.
- You’ll review and sign a one-time consent form (online or in person, depending on your site).
- Once enrolled, PicnicHealth will collect your medical records directly from your doctors.
- There are no clinic visits, labs, or extra procedures involved.
Only de-identified information is shared with the research team. Your name, contact information, and other identifying details are removed before your data is used for research. PicnicHealth follows strict privacy and security protocols and does not share your information for marketing or other non-research purposes.
Yes. You’ll receive a $250 e-gift card for participating. You’ll also get a free PicnicHealth account that allows you to view and manage your own medical records online for the duration of the study.
Compensation is paid in the form of an e-gift card or e-Visa card which can be claimed online from your PicnicHealth dashboard. Once your eligibility for the study is confirmed, the card will be emailed to you from GiftBit.
Compensation is redeemable once we confirm that you meet the eligibility criteria for the study. Usually, this process takes 1-3 weeks, depending on how quickly we retrieve your medical records.
The study will follow participants for up to 2 years, but there’s no extra work required once you’ve enrolled. Enrollment takes about 10 minutes, and there’s no ongoing work required on your part.
Yes. Participation is voluntary, and you can withdraw at any time. If you do, no new records will be collected, though information already shared may still be used for research.

If necessary, direct requests can also be sent to your healthcare providers.
