You have the power to move research forward.

Join a study from one of our research partners to help improve care and discover new insights. Participate securely and anonymously, sharing your health experiences to help answer questions that matter.

The questions that matter most aren't always being answered.

Medical research has made incredible progress, but most of it has been built on controlled settings, not real life. Some of the most important questions in medicine are still being answered — and your experience can help. How do treatments work for people managing other conditions at the same time? What does living with this disease actually look like over years, not months?

PicnicHealth partners with leading researchers and academic institutions to fill that gap. Your real-world experiences help researchers understand patterns, improve treatments, and build research that actually reflects the people it's meant to serve.

Together, we can shape the future of medicine, for you, your loved ones, and generations to come.

Research across many conditions. See if there's a study for you.

These are observational, non-interventional studies, meaning your care doesn't change. Researchers learn from real experiences: how conditions evolve, how treatments perform, and what daily life actually looks like.

Built on partnership with patients.

We're patients ourselves. That's why we treat you as a partner, respecting your time, your choices, and your contribution at every step.

You are protected.

Before any study begins, an independent Institutional Review Board (IRB) reviews it to protect your rights and make sure you have everything you need to make an informed decision.

Your privacy comes first.

Researchers never see who you are — we remove all personal details before your data are shared. What remains is health information only. Read our Privacy Policy.

Your contribution goes toward real research.

Your data is used to advance understanding and improve care. That's it.

Participation is always your choice.

You decide if and when to join. You have to actively say yes, and nothing is ever shared without your permission.

You can withdraw at any time.

You can leave a study whenever you want, for any reason.

“As a patient myself, being able to shape the future of research is incredibly rewarding. I firmly believe we can better use technology to improve health outcomes.”

FAQs

Does this cost money?

No. Joining a study is free.

What will I actually have to do?

It depends on the study. All studies involve medical record collection. Many include surveys. Some include virtual visits or a connected device. Each study page tells you exactly what's involved before you sign up.

How do you protect my privacy?

We extract specific data points, including lab results, medications, diagnoses, and survey responses, and remove everything that could identify you. Your information is combined with data from hundreds or thousands of other participants. No researcher can connect what they see back to you.

Will I see the research results?

Yes. We share findings back with participants when they're ready.

What kind of studies does PicnicHealth partner with?

Most of our studies are observational and non-interventional, meaning we follow people over time to understand their real experiences with a condition or treatment. You don't try anything new or change your care in any way.

Who sponsors the studies?

Our studies are sponsored by pharmaceutical companies, academic institutions, and disease foundations. Each study page tells you who the sponsor is before you consent. We review every partnership carefully and only partner with studies we believe are genuinely useful for patients.

How long do studies last?

It varies. Some follow participants for one to two years; others are longer. Each study page tells you the expected duration and how often you'll be asked to contribute.

Can I be in more than one study?

Eligibility depends on the specific requirements of each study. If you qualify for more than one, you can review each and decide what feels right. Sometimes, you might be eligible to participate in more than one study at once.

What if I don't qualify for any current studies?

You can still create a PicnicHealth account and we'll notify you when a relevant study opens for your condition. New studies launch regularly. Note that a PicnicHealth account outside of a study is a paid membership.
